Pasticche di S.M.Novella (S.M.Novella Mints) are a traditional preparation of natural flavors of select aromatic plants, among which Erba di Santa Maria, or Balsamite Major, well known to Santa Maria Novella’s apothecary monks for its digestive and calming properties, is included. S.M.Novella sugar-free lozenges with mint, cinnamon and costmary flavoring and stevia extract take inspiration from the original formula prescribed by Fra’ Angiolo Marchissi in 1614.
